Many of the families who have lost a loved one, in addition to the loss, there is the overwhelming depression that overshadows all else. They now become a population dependent on the generosity of others. This is true for the elderly population who already suffer from physical ailments, now have the added challenge of dealing with emotional upheaval.
We help through verbal contact, help in the home – from shopping to escorting the elderly in their wheelchair – to cleaning the window shutters and the home. It is simply wonderful to see the relationship which blossoms between our youth who volunteer and the elderly.
